As the class wraps up...
So as this class wraps up, I have found that I have actually learned a lot. I say that because this class was demanding and difficult. In the beginning, I was not sure that much of this information was going to be beneficial to me and my major. However, looking back at all the chapters, I find that the information will be helpful for me in the future. I found this class to be very different than any other online class I have taken before. Blogging is something that I was introduced to in this class. I had never taken part in a blog of my own or anyone else. I think that making a blog a requirement of this class was a good experience. Completing my blogs every week helped me comprehend more of what I read and learned. I was able to put my thoughts in a blog and tell the class what I had learned. Overall, I think that I will take away a lot from this class. It was difficult but worth it.

Week 9-Chapter 9
I think that this chapter was a very interesting one. It talked about the emerging trends and technologies which are changing all the time. From the Internet to cell phones to mobile television, everything changes so fast. This chapter is full of the ever-changing trends and technologies that we see now and will be seeing in the future. I enjoyed reading and learning about Chapter 9.
Week 8-Chapter 8
Chapter 8 was about protecting people and information. I think this chapter was the most eye-opening for me because of all the information that I learned about. I was always aware of identity theft, spam, etc. before this chapter but this chapter informed me on a lot of the threats and safeguards that I can encounter. This chapter was very beneficial to read and learn about because all the information is valuable and real to everyday life.
Week 7-Chapter 7
Chapter 7 was one of the more complex chapters for me. A lot of the material was new to me. Hardware and software infrastructure seems very complex and complicated. IT success metrics was also another new topic for me. I was not aware of the different kinds of metrics until this chapter such as efficiency and effectiveness metrics, web-centric metrics, etc. The chapter overall was very knowledgeable for me.
Week 6-Chapter 6
Chapter 6 was about systems development, the phases, tools, and techniques. I learned about the seven phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and what each phase entails. The chapter also talked about component-based development, selfsourcing, prototyping, and outsourcing. It was all very interesting to learn about. I have heard of some of the topics but never know much about them. Prototyping was one of my favorite topics to really learn about in this chapter.

Week 5- Chapter 5
Chapter 5 was about electronic commerce and strategies for the new economy. There are many tupes of e-commerce modles that I learned about. It is interesting on what each one does differently that the others. This chapter had e-business trends such as youth, m-commerce, and the Long Tail. They were interesting to read about. This was a knowledgeable and fun chapter to learn about.
Week 4- Chapter 4
Chapter 4 was about decision support and artifical intelligence. It was one of the more complex chapters I thought, but was very knowledgeable. Until this chapter, I was unware of the phases of decision making. In my everyday life I make thousands of decisions but never have I thought about how I make them or my process I go through. Learning about the different systems (expert, neural networks, genetic algorithms, and intelligent agent) was interesting.
